72 Percent at the World Cup: Balltics Takes Off with AI-Powered Football Predictions

After 104 World Cup predictions and two Bundesliga match days in test operation, the free football portal now covers 13 competitions and combines game predictions with TV and streaming schedules.

Dortmund, September 10, 2026 – Who will win? And where is the game broadcast? The free football portal Balltics.com combines statistical game predictions with TV and streaming schedules. Launched for the FIFA World Cup 2026, Balltics then went into test operation at the start of the new Bundesliga season. After the first two Bundesliga match days, the service is now being regularly expanded and already includes 13 national and international competitions.

What's special: All predictions remain publicly visible even after the final whistle. This allows users to track at any time how often the model was correct and how often it was wrong.

104 World Cup Games Predicted in Advance

At the 2026 World Cup, Balltics faced its first full practical test. All 104 matches were predicted before kick-off. In 75 games, the model correctly predicted the outcome, with 17 results even being predicted exactly. This corresponds to a success rate of 72 percent in predicting the winner or a draw.

The model also correctly predicted the eventual World Champion: Spain was identified as the favorite with a 35 percent probability even before the tournament began and subsequently became World Champion. The complete World Cup record remains publicly viewable. Balltics

No Black Box: Even Wrong Tips Remain Visible

Especially with football predictions, impressive hit rates are easily claimed. Balltics therefore pursues a deliberately transparent approach: A prediction once published does not disappear after the game.

For each match, the portal shows the probabilities for a home win, a draw, and an away win, as well as the statistically most likely result. After the final whistle, it indicates whether the predicted outcome was correct or incorrect.

"Most prediction services primarily show what they got right. With us, every tip remains, even the ones that went wrong. If you don't believe us, you can check the math," says Ulrich Engelmann, Managing Director of Engelmann GmbH, which operates Balltics.

This also applies to the current season. For each competition, Balltics maintains an ongoing record of its predictions. Especially at the beginning of the season, individual hit rates are not very meaningful. Balltics therefore deliberately refrains from drawing conclusions about the prediction quality of an entire season from just a few match days.

AI-Powered, But Not a Football Crystal Ball

Behind the predictions is not a language model that guesses football results. Balltics combines classic statistical methods from Elo ratings and Poisson distributions with a neural network.

For the German leagues, a history of three complete seasons is used as a basis. From this, a playing strength is determined for each team. The model considers, among other things, the different strengths of the leagues and home advantage.

Expected goals are calculated from the difference in team strengths. A probability distribution then determines the chances of a home win, a draw, and an away win, as well as the most likely result.

Betting odds from bookmakers are not included in the calculation. The model generates its predictions independently of the betting market.

For foreign competitions, the data basis is smaller at the beginning of the season. There, team strengths are initially formed from the results of the current season. Balltics itself points out that the predictions there only reach a data basis comparable to the German competitions after approximately ten match days.

From the Bundesliga to the Champions League

Balltics now covers 13 competitions: Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Liga, DFB-Pokal, Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Primeira Liga, Championship, and the Brazilian Série A.

Balltics aims to be more than just a prediction site. For each game, the portal also shows where the match will be broadcast on TV or streamed. Depending on the competition, Sky, DAZN, Sat.1, MagentaSport, RTL, RTL+, Amazon Prime Video, and Sportdigital are taken into account, among others.

A central TV overview summarizes upcoming broadcasts across all competitions.

"We answer the two questions asked before every game: Who will win, and where can I watch it. No one needs an account or a cookie banner for that," says Engelmann.

Match Schedule Including Broadcaster and Prediction in Your Own Calendar

Another feature is the calendar export. Users can subscribe to complete competitions or just the games of their favorite club as an ICS calendar.

The dates can be integrated into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, for example. In addition to the match and kick-off time, the respective broadcaster and the Balltics prediction can also appear directly in the personal calendar.

The service is supplemented by current tables, form guides for the last five games, top scorer lists, matchday views, club pages with cross-competition fixtures, head-to-head comparisons, and live scores during ongoing matches.

Free and Completely Without Cookies

Balltics also takes an unusual approach to data protection. The portal can be used free of charge and without registration and currently contains no advertising.

Balltics also does not use cookies and does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Therefore, no cookie consent banner is required. Even the sharing function works without integrated third-party scripts, so no data is transmitted to social networks just by visiting a Balltics page.

The portal is available in German and English. The World Cup section is also available in French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.
