MovieJack Expands Media Features: Download Entire Music Albums and Transfer Videos Directly to Smartphones
Engelmann Software adds a new album search, direct transfer via QR code, enhanced video preview, and additional features to MovieJack.
Dortmund, October 28, 2026. Engelmann Software GmbH is expanding its multimedia software MovieJack with several features that make it easier to search for, download, and use videos and music. The current update focuses on the new album search, direct transfer of downloaded files to smartphones, and enhanced preview of search results.
Download Complete Music Albums with One Click
With the new album search, users can search specifically for artists and music albums. Instead of selecting individual tracks one by one, all available tracks on an album can be downloaded in a single operation.
The feature makes it easier to build a personal music collection that can subsequently be used without an internet connection.
In addition, MovieJack offers a watchlist where interesting videos can be marked for download at a later time.
Transfer Videos to Smartphones Without Cables or the Cloud
Another new feature is direct file transfer to smartphones. After downloading, MovieJack provides a QR code through which the completed file can be transferred to the mobile device.
A cable connection or prior storage with a cloud provider is not required.
This allows users to more easily use their downloaded videos on mobile devices, for example while traveling or on the go.
New Preview Simplifies Searching
The integrated video search has also been revised. Search results can now be viewed directly in an image preview before a download is started.
This allows users to better assess whether a found video meets their expectations.
Improvements for Karaoke and Usability
The karaoke features have also been expanded. MovieJack now supports the MP3+G format used by various karaoke systems.
Additionally, the original vocals can be kept quiet in the background if desired to provide guidance while singing along.
The program settings have been divided into seven clear groups. Further improvements concern license management, AI features, and support for macOS and Linux.
Continuous Development
Engelmann Software regularly develops MovieJack. In addition to new features, the focus is on adapting to technical changes in supported media sources and improving usability.
User feedback and feature requests are taken into account during further development.
Availability
MovieJack is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS in several editions. The respective range of features depends on the selected edition.
