Device Limit Reached

Our software licenses can only be used on a certain number of devices simultaneously. The number of allowed devices depends on the specific product and the license purchased.

Why am I seeing this message?

The message "Device limit reached" means that the maximum number of device activations allowed for your license has been reached.

This can happen, for example, if you:

  • have already activated the software on multiple computers,
  • have reinstalled Windows or reset your computer,
  • have made major hardware changes,
  • have used the software multiple times in virtual machines,
  • are no longer using a previous installation, but it is still saved as activated.

In some cases, even a reinstallation on the same computer can be recognized as a new device by the licensing system.

How many devices can I use?

The allowed number of devices depends on the product and the license purchased. Depending on the license, use may be permitted on one, three, or five devices, for example.

You can find the exact number of devices:

  • in the license information for the respective product,
  • on the product page in our online shop.

A license may only be used within the agreed number of devices. Repeatedly entering the same serial number does not increase the number of allowed devices.

What can I do now?

First, check if the software is still installed on older or unused computers.

If you have replaced a computer, reinstalled Windows, or made major changes to the device, a reset of the previous activation may be necessary.

In this case, please contact our support and send us the following information:

  • the name of the product,
  • your serial number,
  • the email address used for the purchase,
  • a brief description of why the activation should be reset.

For security reasons, you should not publish your full serial number publicly or in forums.

Do you need the software on more devices?

If you want to use the software on more devices than your current license allows, you may need a license with an additional device count.

The device limit protects your license from unauthorized use. It is not a time limit for the software, but exclusively concerns the number of simultaneously or overall registered device activations.
