Setup

To help you get started, this chapter contains all important information for setting up MyFormatConverter on your PC. To install MyFormatConverter, please proceed as follows:

The setup wizard will guide you step-by-step through the further installation. As is generally customary, the following rules apply:

Program Start

After successful installation, start MyFormatConverter using one of the following methods:

Licensing

You can unlock the full version of MyFormatConverter via the 'License Management' entry in the menu bar. To do this, enter your license key in the designated field. You will have either received the license key in an email (for an online purchase) or it will be included in the MyFormatConverter package. After entering, simply click the 'Check Key' button. A message will then appear, informing you whether you have entered the license key correctly or not.

Important: Please note that an existing internet connection is absolutely necessary to verify the license key! For security, please start our software by right-clicking and selecting the "Run as administrator" option!

Updates

All registered users generally receive free updates corresponding to the version number of their programs! To update the program, click on the 'Update' entry in the menu bar. The check only takes a very short time and should be repeated regularly.

Setup

Tip: Activating the 'Enable automatic updates' option in the settings ensures that MyFormatConverter automatically checks for updates when the program starts. Note: The update wizard only transmits the program data necessary for the update, but of course no personal information.

Convert Audio

In this chapter, you will find all important information regarding the conversion of audio files.

In the file list, you can then use the checkboxes on the left side to decide exactly which files should be converted. You can remove marked files from the list again using the red cross at the top right. Alternatively, you can also access this function via the context menu (right-click within the list). You can determine the order in which the files should be converted using the two arrows next to the red cross.

On the right side are further functions which will now be explained in more detail:

Select Audio Profile

Once you have selected your desired files, click 'Next' to proceed to the next window, where you can choose an output format. Depending on the version of your MyFormatConverter, various formats are available. If you are unsure which format is right for your device, simply select .mp3. This is the most widely used and can be played on almost any device.

In the lower area there are further file settings with which you can further refine the conversion. However, these settings are only temporary and apply only to the current conversion process.

If you are satisfied with the format settings, click 'Next' to proceed to the next window, where you can select a destination path. If you want the computer to shut down automatically after the conversion, activate the corresponding checkbox. The 'Start Conversion!' button initiates the conversion process. The progress is shown by a loading bar. The 'Cancel Conversion' button completely cancels the conversion and reopens the main menu.

Convert Video

In this chapter, you will find all important information regarding the conversion and optimization of video files. It also explains how to convert a 2D video to a 3D video.

Select Conversion Files

Click the 'Convert Video' button in the main menu. In the following window, you then have the option to select the files you want to convert.

In the file list, you can then use the checkboxes on the left side to decide exactly which files should be converted. Optimize Video

In the main menu there is also the 'Optimize Videos' button. Here you will find, in addition to the settings for converting videos, also some options to optimize your videos.

Convert 2D to 3D

The conversion from 2D to 3D does not differ greatly from normal video conversion. First, click the 'Convert 2D to 3D' button in the main menu. Here you will find, in addition to the normal conversion settings, also some options to convert videos from 2D to 3D. Use the '3D-Mode' list to select your desired technique.

In the lower area, you can select finer settings for your desired method.

Once you have selected your desired files, click 'Next' to proceed to the next window, where you can choose an output format. Depending on the version of your MyFormatConverter, various formats are available. If you are unsure which profile is best for your playback device, you can also try a more general profile, such as 'HD – MP4'.

Convert Photos

On the right side there is more information about the selected file. Here you can find out more about the format, resolution, size, etc. of the photo. In the main menu there is also the 'Optimize Photos' button. Here you will find, in addition to the settings for converting photos, also some options to optimize your photos.

Burn CD/DVD

Click the 'Burn CD/DVD' button in the main menu. In the following window, you then have the option to select the files you want to burn.

You can remove marked files from the list again using the red cross at the top right. You can determine the order in which the files should be burned to the CD/DVD using the two arrows next to the red cross. Then you can choose a name for your medium using the 'Label' text box. If you have several drives, you must find the correct one from the list using 'Recorder'. You decide whether you want to create a 'Data Disk' or an 'Audio CD' using the 'Disk Type' list.

Settings

In this chapter, you will find all important information about the settings.

Audio

First, select a codec from the list. Depending on the version of your MyFormatConverter, different codecs are available. After you have made your selection, further options are displayed:

In some countries, it is not allowed to directly copy DRM-protected files. A workaround here is conversion via analog recording. To do this, select your sound card under 'Sound Card' and set the 'Input' to 'Master Volume'. Then you can adjust the 'Level'. If the level is set too high, this leads to overmodulation; if the level is too low, it leads to noise.

Video

Here you can edit the profiles displayed under Select Video Profile. You can completely deactivate profiles using the checkboxes on the left side to get a better overview. You can also import, export, edit, and completely delete profiles.

Photo

Here you can adjust the default settings for selecting a photo profile. This means you will no longer have to change the settings every time you restart. After you have selected one of the available formats, further options appear:
