Starting the Program
After successful installation, start Photo BlowUp using one of the following methods:
Photo Editing
In the first section, you can choose between different magnifications/reductions. Custom sizes are also possible. The unit can be changed between "Pixel", "Inch", and "cm". The aspect ratio remains preserved for all size changes. Under "Crop Source", you can select an area of the image to be processed. PhotoBlowUp includes various algorithms that can be applied to different image sources. These can be selected under Enhance Edges/Sharpen:
The "Remove noise before enlargement" option applies the noise reduction algorithm to the image before enlargement. After enlargement, some details, such as the texture of skin, clothing, and fur, may be lost. "Add artificial structure" attempts to restore these structures. The strength can be adjusted here. "Add grain" helps to make the result appear more natural. This is achieved by adding noise to the luminance channel. The strength can also be varied here.
Saving Photos
Once you have finished editing, you can save the image by clicking "Save" at the bottom left. You then have the choice between various presets. You can also create a new preset. There you can view a comparison between the original photo and the edited result. You can also adjust the image quality, file size, and compression.
Batch Processing
The file list can be edited using the buttons at the bottom left. The first area at the top right offers the same options as photo editing of a single image. The other settings relate to saving the photos. Here you can adjust the file format, storage location, and naming rules. You can also decide whether the original image should be overwritten.
