Installation

To install SecuPerts Anti-Spy, please proceed as follows:

Under options, you can select your desired installation directory. There you can also decide whether a program shortcut should be created on the desktop after installation. Clicking 'OK' saves these settings. The setup wizard will then guide you step-by-step through the further installation. As is generally customary, the following rules apply:

After successful installation, start SecuPerts Anti-Spy using one of the following methods:

Important: Before the first program start, please ensure that your PC is connected to the internet so that SecuPerts Anti-Spy can be licensed and activated.

Please start our software on the first launch by right-clicking and selecting the "Run as administrator" option.

Instructions

SecuPerts Anti-Spy allows you to quickly and easily make in-depth settings to your system. The various settings are divided into the following categories:

Windows 10

In this category, you will find settings that can prevent data transmission to Microsoft. Furthermore, access by other software to your messages and contact data can be blocked. Other useful functions include, for example, activating the console command prompt on the login screen or deactivating web search with Windows Desktop Search. With the "Suppress synchronization provider notifications" option, you can remove OneDrive advertisements from your system.

Windows 10 Synchronization

This category contains settings that allow you to disable various aspects of Windows 10 synchronization. Synchronization can help in case of a system crash to revert to previous settings. Synchronization is also useful when multiple computers are used.

Edge

The settings in this category refer to Microsoft's Edge internet browser. Settings such as "Prevent saving passwords" or "Always send Do Not Track request" increase your security, while others such as "Block pop-up windows" make using Edge more pleasant.

Personal Settings

These settings primarily serve to increase your security. When dealing with data from the internet, you should always pay attention to the file extension. The settings "Show known file extensions in Explorer" and "Show pif, scf, lnk, url file extensions" help you with this. The other settings restrict unauthorized access to your files.

Media / Windows Media Player

This category limits your Media Player's access to the internet. This includes, among other things, "Suppress identification of Media Player by internet sites" or "Suppress transmission of MediaPlayer usage statistics to Microsoft."

Typically, Peer-to-Peer upload to other users is enabled in Windows 10. This unnecessarily consumes bandwidth and slows down your system, which is why it should be deactivated. Additionally, in this category, you can remove the computer from the network and disable automatic Windows updates.

Internet Explorer

The settings in this category refer to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. You can suppress its updates and disable potential security risks such as JavaScript or ActiveX controls. A phishing filter can also be activated, further increasing your security.

You can easily edit cookies and history using the "View and delete cookies" and "View and delete history" buttons. These open a separate window where the respective cookies or history are displayed and individual entries can be removed.

Services

This category contains various Windows services. These can be easily deactivated here.

Operation

To expand the settings of a category, click on it with the left mouse button. You can then switch the desired settings on or off using the toggle buttons on the left side. With the "Turn all on" and "Turn all off" buttons below, you can quickly change the status of multiple settings simultaneously.

Once you are satisfied with the settings, you can apply them using the "Apply" button. A status text at the bottom of the software informs you about the number of settings to be changed. The "Undo" button resets all settings to your currently selected profile.

Profiles

Upon first launch, your current settings are saved in a separate profile, allowing you to revert to your previous settings at any time. You can access the profile via the "Profile > Load Profile" button in the top right of the menu bar. There, you can also save your currently selected settings in a new profile via "Profile > Save Profile".

Change Language

You can change the language of SecuPerts Anti-Spy via "Profile > Language" in the top right of the menu bar. You have a choice between German, English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
