Setup

To install SecuPerts Identity Inspector, please proceed as follows:

Under Options, you can select your desired installation directory during installation. There, you can also decide whether a program shortcut should be created on the desktop after installation. Clicking 'OK' saves these settings. The setup wizard will then guide you step-by-step through the rest of the installation. As is generally customary, the following rules apply:

After successful installation, start SecuPerts Identity Inspector in one of the following ways:

Important: Before starting the program for the first time, please ensure that your PC is connected to the internet so that SecuPerts Identity Inspector can be licensed and activated.

Starting the Software

When you start our software for the first time, you will see the following screen:

Please enter your full email address there. Our software will then check the security of your email address several times a day. You can have any number of addresses monitored by our software.

If you want to add more email addresses for monitoring, simply click the '+' symbol at the top of the software:

For each email address, it will then show you whether everything is "OK" - or whether the respective email address appears in our databases. If your email address was found in our system, you can see exactly when and where your address appeared. To do this, please click on "Alarm".

You should then immediately change your password on that website or service. If you have used the password elsewhere in connection with this email address, then absolutely do so there too! Tips for strong passwords can be found here: How secure is my password?
