Is Photomizer Free Software?
Yes and no. Photomizer is available as a free version of image editing software. However, some modules in the software must be purchased. In the free version of Photomizer 3, you can remove red eyes from images or photos and convert from almost any photo format (including RAW formats like Canon RAW, e.g., from Canon EOS 600D, 700D, 1900D) to JPEG/JPG, TIFF, BMP, or GIF. Can the program also open DNG files?
Yes, it can. See above. DNG stands for Digital Negative and is a RAW format. By the way, the request for this universal RAW format from Adobe is the most frequently asked question about Photomizer in our support. Are negatives also supported and can they be converted?
Short answer: Yes! Scanned negatives and scanned slides can be processed.

Does Photomizer have batch processing?
Yes! You can convert any number of photos ‘in one go’! In principle, it’s only limited by the available storage space on your computer! Our optimization is very fast, multi-core optimized, on 64-bit computers the full memory is utilized, and images with up to over 100 megapixels can be processed.
What are Exif and IPTC information, and are they supported by Photomizer?
The Exchangeable Image File Format (officially abbreviated as Exif, not EXIF) is a standard format for storing metadata in digital photos or images. It includes information such as date time, orientation (as image rotation by 90, 180, or 270 degrees), focal length, exposure time, aperture setting, exposure program, exposure index (ISO value), geographic coordinates, and a thumbnail. Additional useful information can be added later in the form of so-called IPTC data (International Press Telecommunications Council). IPTC standard data includes, for example, an image description, creator, and copyright notice. Photomizer supports all these metadata and also converts them between formats!
The optimization doesn’t look good on my photo!
Our optimization is certainly not flawless. We are always happy to receive photos from you where our optimization can be improved!
Why do the created images become very pixelated?
Please check the value for JPEG compression in the settings. If it is set to 40 or 50, the value is too low. Please set a significantly higher value, e.g., 80 or higher.
Why are the images you create much larger than the original images?
Basically, Photomizer adds information to the image through optimization. So it’s in the nature of things that the photos become larger. However, if the images become much larger, you should check the degree of JPEG compression in the settings. We recommend a value of 80 – this achieves a good balance between quality and file size.
What is the technical background of Photomizer’s optimization?
Our fully automatic photo optimization consists of complexly interconnected psychovisual and mathematical processes that allow the software to precisely analyze any photo, perform its visual optimization, and make it appear visibly more realistic, for example.
The most essential component here is the intelligent reconstruction of the image as the human eye originally perceived it, while an innovative selective object recognition simultaneously ensures that only the image parts recognized as relevant are optimized. The dynamic range of the images is expanded, faces are recognized as image components and factored in according to their relevance, incorrect exposures are balanced, colors are corrected, and shadows are brightened. The software decides completely autonomously which image areas need to be optimized and how.
