SecuPerts Cyber Shield Manual

Preamble

With Cyber Shield you execute all integrated programs in a so-called sandbox. We have had the software examined and tested by external companies/specialists in order to have this functionality checked and we will have Cyber Shield continuously tested. When we speak of “secure” in the help, we mean the current state of the technology.SecuPerts Cyber Shield Installation

Introductory remarks

The installation of the program requires a working Windows operating system. Support for Mac is in preparation. As far as the hardware is concerned, the general rule is: the more powerful, the better. But you need it at least:

  • Windows 7/8/10 (32- or 64-bit each)
  • at least 1 Gigabyte RAM
  • You must be connected to the Internet while using the program!

If unexpected problems occur with SecuPerts Cyber Shield, please contact our support. You can reach our support center via our contact form on this website. Please have the following information ready so that we can help you as effectively as possible:

  • The program name (SecuPerts Cyber Shield) and the version number.
  • The name of the operating system used and any service packs installed.

Safe in the Internet thanks to Cyber Shield

You currently have two options here::

  • Internet: secure, but not anonymous
  • Internet: safe and anonymous (TOR)

We are working on a free update, which will allow a third option soon:

  • Internet: secure & anonymous (VPN)

In both cases we use Mozilla Firefox as our browser. Detailed instructions for Firefox can be found here.

Please note: Both browsers available to you are secure and you can move freely around the Internet.

If you want to use the Tor network, you can also surf anonymously – but unfortunately quite slowly. For more information about the Tor network, click here.

We are working on the integration of our own VPN network. This will allow you to surf anonymously much faster.

Attention: The start of the browser may take some timePasswort Manager in Cyber Shield

How are data exchanged between Cyber Shield and the main system?

Cyber Shield places the folder “Cyber Shield shared files” on the desktop of your computer. All files that you store there are accessible in Cyber Shield – and of course via your normal Windows environment. As this represents a potential security risk, all files there are checked with the daily updated virus scanner from Avira. However, there is always a residual risk if you want to exchange data.

Which keyboard shortcuts are important?

CTRL-M: Cyber Shield works in so-called “Seamless Mode”. I.e., all executed programs run in their own windows (as it is usual with Windows). With CTRL-M you can switch between the seamless mode and the classic desktop mode.

CTRL-L: With CTRL-L you switch Cyber Shield to full screen mode and back again.

ALT and click: If you want to move the Cyber Shield window, press the “ALT” key and click on the Cyber Shield window. You can then move the window as you like.

Note: Please use only the right CRTL key!

How will Cyber Shield be enhanced in the future?

Yes, we will add another browser that will allow you to quickly surf anonymously over a VPN network. And above all much faster than with TOR. We are also working on a secure banking browser and the integration of banking software. Details will follow soon! Basically, the software will also be translated into other languages afterwards.

When is Cyber Shield coming for Mac?

As soon as all above mentioned functions are integrated, we will also release the software for Mac!

Which operating systems are supported?

Cyber Shield runs on Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7 – both 32- and 64 bit!

On MAC OS X the versions 10.10, 10.11, 10.12 and 10.13 (64-bit and Mac Intel hardware only) will be supported.

Will the computer be slowed down by Cyber Shield?

No. Cyber Shield does not slow down your system. On modern 64-bit computers, you will notice no real loss of speed when you surf the Internet with our software.
