PC Washer Brings Order to Windows PCs and Macs
New Software from Engelmann Software Helps Clean Up, Analyze, and Manage Your Computer
Dortmund, August 6, 2026 – Over time, every computer becomes cluttered. Large files are forgotten, programs are no longer used, browsers collect more and more data, and valuable storage space disappears. Engelmann Software GmbH is now introducing PC Washer, new software designed to help with exactly this: making Windows PCs and Macs organized again and better understanding the system's condition.
Instead of merely deleting temporary files, PC Washer answers typical questions many users ask themselves daily.

- Which programs do I actually still use?
- Are there duplicate files?
- Is my SSD or hard drive still in good condition?

- Which browser data has been saved?
The software analyzes the computer clearly and comprehensibly. Users always decide for themselves which files to remove or which changes to make. Deleted files are moved to the recycle bin first, where technically possible.
One License for Windows and macOS
PC Washer supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows on ARM, as well as macOS from version 12 on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. One license can be flexibly distributed across Windows PCs and Macs.
Different functions are available depending on the operating system. On Windows, for example, PC Washer detects installation remnants after Windows updates, analyzes autostart entries, and helps remove no longer needed programs. On Macs, it breaks down the often hard-to-understand system data and developer caches, among other things.
Keep an Eye on Storage Devices
In addition to cleanup functions, PC Washer also monitors the health of SSDs and hard drives. The software reads the SMART data provided by the drive and provides information on critical values such as uncorrectable read or write errors, high wear, or persistently elevated temperatures. The software deliberately refrains from speculative remaining lifespan predictions.
An integrated duplicate finder is also part of the functionality. Instead of just comparing files by their name, PC Washer analyzes their content using SHA-256. At least one copy of each file is always retained.
